Mission Control We have a Problem

You know I have this great friend who will remain anonymous, but hes into collecting remote controls and while I was over at his house the other day I had to take a snap shot of this gathering of remotes.

I count 8 in this photo but I know he has another 3 hiding somewhere :) Now the thing is that all of these are in use in some form or fashion but I think we need to take up a collection to get him the Logitech® Harmony® 1000 uber remote control all in one, it even gets you beer.

Ok last part is a joke but would be great, maybe we can rig it up to the beer launching fridge (see video)

This one guy really seems to amaze me on the quality of his work, I’m sure their are some tweaks in photoshop but non the less his stuff is deff worth looking at. Check out more on his flickr account or head to his site Stuck in Customs.

You have new Picture Mail!

Originally uploaded by Gate-Way.

While playing poker last night, I took a photo of the cards, don’t ask, i a shutter bug so I always have my camera phone or real camera out taking pics. After waking up today to my surprise the photo I took out caught a cheater in action or the cheaters ghost buddy.

In in all seriousness I thought this pic was sorta neat and im not 100% sure what happened, but it looks pretty interesting.

Cocaine Cowboys Movie

Saturday, February 17th, 2007

Just watched a new documentary movie based on the real cocaine traffickers and dealers back in the 70′s/80′s from Miami. This film was an excellent incite into a lot of what happened back then and who the real dealers where.

The city of Miami was both torn apart and also built upon drug money as this documentary points out. The film takes hours and hours of real tv footage, news reels, and accounts from some of the dealers them selves (I guess they already served their time and can speak about it).

Light Painting and not with Photoshop

Wednesday, February 7th, 2007

I recently read a pretty cool article around the idea of painting with light in photography. At first I wasn’t quite sure what that meant when I read the heading of the article but the jist of this is taking a photo with a long exposure in the dark and lighting up areas in your photo. What turns out is a photo of black but only ares where you lit the scene show up in the frame.

An idea someone did in the article was at night in a field of hay they set up their camera, and focused it upon a few bails of hay. With no light except for maybe some of the night sky they went around dressed in black with a flash light and lit up the bails and the final photo turned out with this creepy glowing bails and the rest of the photo some what dark

Here is an example of a photo taking from Chris Becker’s site. He has lots of more really cool light painted photos so be sure to head on over to his site to see more.

Each custom piece is as original as you are, and is created on the highest quality canvas.”
