Ticketmaster rip off

Monday, March 24th, 2008

The other day my friends and I wanted to check out an upcoming DJ show in San Francisco, so we followed the link from the site and it took us to ticketmaster, ok thats fine, i’m used to a bit of extra charges and I can usually add in few bucks here to get my ticket mailed to me or printed out, but low and behold, a $35 show ticket ended up costing me $52.30.

WTF is that about?

Thats an additional $17.30 extra added onto my ticket price. Holy outrage Batman, what the hell are they getting away with here. Ok let me look at my order again to make sure I didn’t accidentally order the gold plated ticket.

Here is the break down:

Main Ticket: $35
Total Convenience Charge: $9.56 (wtf thats not a convenience)
Order Processing Charge: $5.15 (you know processing feeds for cc’s are about 2-3%, thats about $1.05 buddy)
Ticket Fast: $2.50 (oh sure, I just wanted to print my ticket, so you charged me more than a stamp, envelope, paper and mailing it)
ticketmaster.jpg

I could drove from my house, across the Golden Gate Bridge, paid the $5 fee to go across the bridge, then went down to the Warfield ticket office probably paid $37.45 (im taking into consideration 7% tax), That still leaves me almost $10, where I could of went to this cheap Thai place for some good ass spicy drunken noodle.

This is a complete outrage as to what these companies get to charge now. I mean things on the web are supposed to be cheaper. WTF kind of rip off is this Ticketmaster?

Sasha and Digweed, I need to have a nice chat with you guys at the show, this is really crazy, at least if they threw in a free drink or two I would be happy but I sure feel ripped off.

New Momu Track - Remix of One Though Seven

Wednesday, November 14th, 2007

Mark one of my friends and 1/2 of the Momu crew told me the other day about a new remix they did of a great song from Jan van Lier’ titled “One Through Seven”. This has been one of my favorite tracks over the last week and figured I would share it with the rest of your electronic dance freaks. You can listen to this if you head over to their my space page here.

These guys really rock the break beat genre and put on a great show.  They are local to the San Francisco crowd and really busy on their upcoming cd which i’m lucky enough to have a preview or early version of.

Check out their last cd on iTunes and let me know what you think.

Not much to really report on the front this week, I have been keeping pretty busy with a deadline at work on some new stuff we are working :) which of course I can’t commit on, but you guys will be the first to know when I can announce what I’m doing.

I saw them last Friday at the Warfield in San Francisco and deff have to say they rocked the house. I have seen them many times but Carl had a lot of energy at this show and I think they where pretty excited to play in San Francisco.. Check out their new cd when its out or check here for any updates about Underworld.

On October 16th, Side One Recordings will release Underworld’s Oblivion with Bells, the duo’s fifth studio album and their first since A Hundred Days Off in 2002. On Oblivion with Bells, the Underworld palette is richer than ever: epic techno nestles next to frail acoustics, beatific prose next to sharp, urban observation, amazing sound texturing mix with mobile phone recordings.

You can pre order the cd by visiting this site and get a free limited addition t shirt

NIN - Year Zero CD Changes Colors

Wednesday, April 18th, 2007

Here is a before and after photo of the new Nine Inch Nails - Year Zero CD. Apparently after playing the cd the black goes away and reveals some thing below, a hidden message? We don’t know but thought It was a pretty neat gimmick.

Here is some more information I found on the Year Zero Wiki about this CD.

“Year Zero features a thermo-chrome heat-sensitive CD face. Appearing mostly black (except for the title), when heated the disc turns mostly white, hiding the title and revealing lines, blocks, the copyright notice and a series of zeros and ones. The binary sequence translates into “exterminal.net“, leading to a website sharing the same URL.”

If you visit the Exterminal site, click the menu item and then Inmate - exhibit A, which then will play the track “Capital G” off of the new Year Zero cd (.wav file), or you can click here for a direct link to the song.

Preview the new NIN Year Zero cd now.
