Becarefull what you get tattooed on your back!

Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

It seems that a fan of the Boca Junior football team in Buenos Aries wanted to get a tattoo of his team on his back. He went to the artist and had him do the work, but to his surprise when he got home and showed his parents, he had a big tattoo of a penis on his back. It turns out that the tattoo artist was a fan of the rival team and instead of doing the team flag on his back decided he needed to put a penis instead.. Wow can you fucking believe that? I guess it goes to show you that you should have a mirror or something where you can see what hes doing if its in places you cant view with out help.

I have heard other stories from friends and articles of people doing mean things in tattoo’s, one of my friends which I wont name had some cool Chinese characters put on his arm only to find out later that it meant stupid American, he eventually had it covered up but just another reason to be vary careful of these permanent markings ;P

We couldn’t find a picture of this pour guy so we dug something up on Google to give you guys a visual of what this might look like :P

Well I have the answer for your DNA 11 will take your DNA and make an art piece out of it. Here is a quote from the site “DNA 11 creates abstract art from a sample of your DNA. Each custom piece is as original as you are, and is created on the highest quality canvas.”

dnamain.jpg The only problem is where the DNA has to come from, well you don’t want to know and its to graphic to talk about in this blog. Ok im kidding, but head on over to the site and check out the various color schemes you can have.

Geo Photos (GPS plus Camera = Geolocation photographs)

Sunday, January 21st, 2007

UPDATE: Found a nice self contained unit that replaces the Pocket PC, and Bluetooth gps receiver, more information at the bottom of the post.

I have been wanting to set this up for some time and recently found a combination of hardware and software that work for me. What is this all about you ask? Well let me shed some light on this. Geo photo, coding, or what ever you want to call it, is the ability to write GPS data to jpeg EXIF headers. This text data is stored in the header of a jpeg adding the longitude, latitude and altitude you took your photo at.

You can do this a few ways, first of all you can buy a camera with built in gps (as of this time they are still pretty low quality), buy a hand held gps device that stores (waypoint, GPX, NMEA data) or a combination of devices. I have chosen the latter because I had a few piece of hardware already. Most if not all devices export out to some data format the one I choose is NMEA data since it works with the software im using on my PC.

My hardware setup consists of:

and the software im using:

So how do you make this all work?
Well in theory you connect your gps to your pocket pc via bluetooth launch the Navio software, start it’s gps logging option which can record every few seconds your location to a file and then take your photos.

Note I don’t make any money off of these links but if you like the music I recommend you support the artist.

High Dyamic Range Photos (HDR)

Wednesday, January 17th, 2007

Here are some pretty kick ass photos taking in the HDR method which in basic terms you take many different exposure settings of the same photo to create a dynamic range of light and dark and use a photoshop plugin to combined them into one photo. If you want more detail visit this page

Anyhow onto the cool stuff, click on the links below.

If you want to try your own check out the FAQ on this page, and you can also use this software to combined your images into a HDR one. If you do any cool ones let me know I would love to check them out.
